Beautiful place with all that we needed. Love how clean, fresh and new the place is. The water pressure of the shower was so so so good that it was like a strong massage - so refreshing!

A beautiful setting in a rural setting. A short walk to an excellent pub with great food was the icing on the cake. A wonderful place to really wind down.

The decor is stunning, the whole aesthetic is beautiful, the house is clean and gives a real traditional Cotswolds feel.
The stairs leading to the loft bedroom are dreadfully steep and the stairs to the bedrooms in the basement have no banister, so generally unsafe for children or anyone with mobility difficulties. I also didn’t want to leave the children in the basement bedrooms two floors below us, so we all slept down there together. Beautiful decor and fabulous bedding, but as there are no windows or access to fresh air, it become hot very quickly, even on mild nights.
The rules seem unnecessarily strict (£100 for make up on the towels, £200 fine for smoking outside, laminated signage on the walls) the property is in such great condition, and it’s probably due to the strict rules, but it makes it hard to relax when you’re very aware and conscious of adhering to the rules. Feels a bit like staying with a very strict relative rather than a home from home.
Ants were swarming in the kitchen in the mornings, the host mentioned that’s common in cottages in the summer but we did have to throw out food and they even managed to get inside my make up bag which I’d left on the kitchen table.
On the morning we left it had been raining, directly outside the back door there is a skylight in the ground for the bedrooms in the basement, I hadn’t considered it would be slippy, but my daughter stepped on it and slid across it and banged her head, she was fine but should be considered for older people.
There is also no private or enclosed outdoor spaces. The patio area is lovely, but between two of the cottages so you can’t dine as you’re blocking another family next door, so a bit awkward. Also relieved we didn’t bring our dog in the end as there are no enclosed outdoor spaces, the front garden is shared with the other cottages and have no gates leading to the car park, so he would have wandered off. The kitchen also opens out to the shared car park so you feel quite exposed.
