With views directly to picturesque Corfe Castle, its a lovely location on paper, but what you don't see is the very busy road which runs directly in front of the inn and isn't much run if you've got a room which faces that way. If you're a heavy sleeper, pack earplugs or can request a room not facing the road then the inn is very nice, that road though is an issue

It’s charm, its elegance, its history and located in the centre of Corfe. Everything is within easy walking distance, such as Corfe Station, the Village Square, the Castle. We were fortunate to arrive at the Bankes Arms Hotel as the Flying Scotsman departed Corfe Station. The Bankes Arms Hotel have their own dedicated car park, making it stress free in finding a space to park. Lastly and very important, the staff are fantastic, couldn’t do enough for you. Don’t mention the delicious food, you will need to walk around the Village and the surrounding hills to make room for your next meal. All in all we loved our stay, and wished we could have stayed longer. The spacious bedrooms are comfortable and well serviced.

Nothing to report. Sure it’s a 400 year old building, it’s going to have its quirks, but that is part of the Bankes Arms Hotel charm.

Lovely hotel, great room, excellent location, easy parking, restaurant food very good

Room was at the front and whilst it was a lovely room it was very noisy and very on view, people in the square could see into the bedroom and bathroom and when the double decker buses went past they had a great view !!! toilet system very noisy and seemed to make a noise every ten minutes or so, toilet seat very loose. Staff in the bar were excellent and it was very busy, staff at breakfast less so, only had two breakfasts but both were missing items (Toast, coffee) and on the second day we were paired with another couple one of which spent all breakfast coughing and shaking
