Bankes Arms Hotel

Breakfast was tasty, quality ingredients. Dinner was really good. Our room was spacious, clean and tasteful, with little noise from the street thanks to secondary double glazing. It's a fabulous old building with excellent access to the Steam Railway station and Corfe in general. The staff are very polite and friendly. The beer is well kept.

Service was lacking first day, waited a long time for dinner ordering and for drinks to arrive, and had to ask for toast at first breakfast. Internet password wasn't in the room, nor any visitor instructions/info that I could see. Towel rail was missing, and the toilet/bathroom really needs lace curtains. For double the price of the place we stayed the night before i'd expect biscuits with my coffee/tea, and something better than instant coffee. The other thing was parking. This hotel really needs designated parking for guests. Being asked to take 'Pot luck' doesn't cut it after a long journey. These are all small issues though.

Perfect location. Friendly and efficient staff. Perfect for parking and perfect for travelling on to Swanage and/or Wareham

Great location on the square below Corfe Castle. Comfortable room and I appreciated the flexibility to allow me a late breakfast. Great stuff.

Lovely hotel, great room, excellent location, easy parking, restaurant food very good

Room was at the front and whilst it was a lovely room it was very noisy and very on view, people in the square could see into the bedroom and bathroom and when the double decker buses went past they had a great view !!! toilet system very noisy and seemed to make a noise every ten minutes or so, toilet seat very loose. Staff in the bar were excellent and it was very busy, staff at breakfast less so, only had two breakfasts but both were missing items (Toast, coffee) and on the second day we were paired with another couple one of which spent all breakfast coughing and shaking
