Bali Barn Village

View was amazing, spacious accommodation and staff very engaging, helpful and friendly.

Although only recently opened the quality and safety of the accommodation still needs attention. For example the properties are on a steep hillside and paths to the villas had large steps that were easy to trip over even for a tall person. Some of the vertical drops along the paths had no railings. The villa’s drains also needed attention as the smell of sewerage pervaded the bedrooms. While the novelty of the motorised golf carts was initially fun in order to scale the steep roads leading to the villa, it made the journey and planning to reach the centre of the village quite an effort as the novelty wore off.

The location is absolutely lovely and the views from the houses are stunning. All very quiet and serene, a wonderful place to relax. The houses are located on a very steep hill, and the staff is eager to shuttle you from and to the main area whenever you want. We loved the sauna and the wellness area. Staff is very helpful and they paid special attention to our allergies, they also helped us with finding the nearby waterfalls. The rooms are very, very clean, I hope they can keep it up!

This accomodation is very recommended, so the following is just to keep in mind and all very manageable. Because the location is remote and the road good but narrow I'm not sure I would go with my own transportation, and definetely only during day light. The houses come with a fully equipped kitchen, but shops are not very close, a 30 minute walk when you take the shortcurt along the waterfalls, again something I would only do in daylight. We ended up eating a mostly at the hotel restaurant which added to the costs. Warungs are available within a 10 min walk, would check their closing time though.
