The location of the property was perfect as it was close to family and a good base to visit local attractions, shops etc
The cleanliness of the property was unacceptable in some areas. Bins had not been emptied. Crumbs on top of the gas hob. Dust and dog biscuits behind the TV unit. TV ariels not connected. TV kept switching of every 10 minutes or so. No WiFi details due to previous guests scratching it off the hub apparently. Hole in wall in room off the living room with a piece of plasterboard hanging in the gap. Cracked panes of glass in one of the front bedroom windows. Wardrobe floor in front bedroom had not been hoovered and bits of rubbish had been left on the floor. The extractor fan in bathroom nearest the bedrooms did not work. The garden was very overgrown and did not resemble the pictures on the listing - sadly it was not fit to sit out in. Initially communication was not good until Booking.com stepped in. I was told by the Owners that I should have reported all of the above sooner so that things could have been resolved - even when I told them that my Daughter had been blue lighted to one of the local hospitals for critical emegency surgery it seemed to make no difference. Choice between my Daughters health/survival and my complaint - surley its a no brainer as to what choice I made! Due to previous 'awful' guests in the past it was perhaps thought that it was my premeditated intention to stay for free! How rude! Even though the price paid for the stay was minimal compared to the market rate for the time of year I expected to walk into a spotless property and should not have had to complain about the above. I was charged a £70.00 cleaning fee at time of booking - let's hope all the above is resolved before the next guests arrive. Unfortunately Booking.com were unable to reach an agreement with the accommodation with regard to a potential refund/compensation due to the minimal amount that was paid for the stay! Sadly I am not able to upload any photgraphs that were taken however they have been submitted to Bookig.
