The location is great, a nice quiet area in between the nature and the main street, and the house has a nice secrecy feel to it, however beware a lot of monkeys are around. I was staying in the shared main house and my friends were in one of the cabins next door. The rooms were clean and i think there is more amenities in the shared house since it’s a shared kitchen/bathrooms than opposed to if you were in a cabin. I enjoyed the modern living space in the house and the room was very comfortable.
The kitchen didn’t look clean, only used the fridge which was fine. I didn’t notice anyone coming to clean except for when someone vacated the room, didn’t notice the shared bathrooms getting cleaned or amenities getting replenished. There are so many ants inside, the most i’ve seen anywhere else i’ve stayed. The room was really clean but the rest of the house not so much unfortunately.
Communication was a bit confusing from staff, had to call the main number twice to be let in, and paid more than the asking price from Booking.com. They send you contacts for local services which was nice but we found much cheaper options ourselves.
Not a bad stay overall but the amenities and cleanliness can be improved, as well as better communication from staff

De kamer is piekfijn in orde, super aangenaam, leuke tuin met veel leven in! Het is wat maar afgelegen in Ahangama, weg van de drukke main street. De staff is supervriendelijk, en waren heel accomodating toen onze volgende accomodatie enorm naar schimmel rook en we terug wilden komen naar Birds of Paradise. We kregen een betere deal, en bleven bijna de hele rest van onze vakantie hier, omdat we ons hier zo thuis voelden!
Soms in het weekend was er wat nachtlawaai van feestjes in de buurt, maar dat ga je overal in Ahangama wel krijgen denk ik.
Let op - zeker Deet meenemen, veel muggen bij schemering.

We had hot water in the shower (not that easy to come by in Sri Lanka), the bed was comfy. It’s in a quiet spot, away from the hustle and bustle of the main road and the trains
You need a separate key for the main gate plus we only had one room key to share between me and my friend which was a bit annoying. The location was nice, but it’s a bit of a walk from the town if you’re not riding a scooter (I didn’t mind, but just something to note)
