Three large, bright bedrooms, plus a second toilet. There is also a lift in the house.
There is no living room — that’s true. But the separate kitchen, where everyone can sit together around one table for dinner, plus two balconies (one facing the street, with a beautiful view of the railway station and the sea right behind it; the other overlooking the courtyard) make up for the lack of a living room.
As for the noise — it’s really not that loud, just a perfectly average level for Catania. This was our third time in the city, and we’ve stayed in other areas before — it was pretty much the same. One of the bedrooms faces the courtyard and is completely quiet. This was actually quite important to us, and there was absolutely no problem with it. We slept very well in the apartment.
We really enjoyed having prosecco on the balcony with that wonderful view — where else can you have both a railway station and the sea in the same frame?
The location is extremely convenient: about a 3-minute leisurely walk to the bus station, with buses to Palermo, Taormina, the airport, etc.; 5 minutes on foot to the railway station; and a metro station entrance just 100–150 metres away. We didn’t use the metro, though, as we walked everywhere.
It’s about a 15–20-minute walk to the main attractions. The Roman Amphitheatre is 17 minutes away on foot. The Cathedral is about 20–25 minutes away, most of the walk being along the main tourist street.
Large supermarkets (Lidl, Deco and Penny) are a 10–15-minute walk away. Right behind Penny there is also a huge market selling fish, fruit, clothes, souvenirs, etc., at very low prices. It operates in the first half of the day.
The building is modern and has a lift.
The neighbourhood may not look the most prestigious (well, there’s a railway station nearby), but we had absolutely no problems.
We really liked both the apartment and the hosts. Highly recommended!

Easy location for travelling on, by train, bus or plane.
The apartment is on the 5th floor but there is lift, which we really appreciated. One of the bedrooms was quite spacious.
The host was responsive and there were bottles of wine in the fridge and packaged snacks in the cupboard.
It is a very noisy area and you can hear the traffic most of the night, so I had to wear my earplugs (which I keep in my bag in case of situations like this)
There are two toilets but only one bathroom, as the second toilet is in a laundry room.

Host veramente incredibili. Abbiamo trovato acqua, una dispensa piena di colazione in busta, una bottiglia di vino, tante capsule di caffè, bagnoschiuma e tutto quello che serve per trascorrere un weekend splendido in una zona molto centrale. Verrò a trovarvi spesso, grazie di tutto.
