The house is spacious, modern, and perfect for a group. We were five adults and had plenty of room. The garden is also beautiful and a great place to relax. The kitchen is very well equipped, with everything you need to prepare your own meals.
The location is peaceful and quiet, and the sea is just a short walk away. We had a wonderful time with our family, and staying here gave us a great taste of Norway. The house is also close to Mandal, a charming town that is well worth a visit. There are plenty of beautiful walks nearby, and you can also enjoy swimming in the sea.
We were a bit disappointed because the description on Booking.com did not fully match the reality.
First, there is no sea view from the house. The photos also give the impression that the boathouse is located right next to the house, but this is not the case. It is about a 10-minute walk away. It was also not clear from the listing whether guests were allowed to use it. We contacted the hosts, who confirmed that it is available for guests, but this information should be made clearer in the description.
Another point was the bathrooms. The listing mentions two bathrooms, but in reality there is one full bathroom with a shower and a separate room with only a toilet. We were expecting two complete bathrooms, which would have been more convenient for our group.
Future guests should also know that the three bedrooms are located on the first floor and are accessed by fairly steep stairs. This may be challenging for families with young children or older guests, as was the case for us. There is also no bathroom on the same floor, so you need to go downstairs during the night. It wasn't a major issue, but we think it's worth mentioning so guests know what to expect.
Finally, while the house was generally comfortable, the cleanliness could be improved, particularly in the kitchen.
