I can personally endorse La Maison Bleue as the perfect place to stay in Sidi Bou Said. The first thing I must mention is the host Kenza. As a seasoned traveller of 47 countries and many aparment rentals along the way, I have never had a host that was so helpful, sincere and accomodating to our needs. Everything went smoothly, and she helped us with suggesting cafe's, restauraunts etc and arranged our departing taxi. All of this was done happily and naturally with zero friction. The apartment itself is located pefectly for visitng Sidi Bou Said's main attractions and only a very short walk away from the main tourist hotspots. The bedrooms were fine, linen clean, a huge kitchen and dining area as well a comfy lounge area with TV. There was a quaint little courtyard off my bedroom too. When passing through Tunis I will always try to stay at La Maison Bleue and I suggest you do too. Thanks again Kenza!

Unexpectedly exceptional. Kenza, the host, accommodated my needs and difficulties with outstanding kindness and helpfulness: from accepting my early check-in request to answering the phone when I got lost due to an unreliable GPS; she even drove out to meet me and guide me to the house. A perfect host for an equally incredibly beautiful apartment, which is furnished with an old-world charm and high-quality, tasteful 70s pieces. The location is super peaceful, just a short walk from the center of Sidi Bou Said and a few minutes from the sea

Le principal point positif de cet appartement est son emplacement. Il est idéalement situé, à proximité immédiate du centre de Sidi Bou Saïd, que nous pouvions rejoindre facilement à pied. C’est très pratique pour profiter du village, de ses ruelles, de ses commerces et de son ambiance sans avoir besoin de prendre un taxi ou un autre moyen de transport.
Malheureusement, notre séjour a été très décevant concernant l’état et les équipements de l’appartement.
Sur les deux chambres, la climatisation ne fonctionnait que dans une seule, et celle du salon ne fonctionnait pas non plus. Avec des températures avoisinant les 40°C pendant notre séjour, nous n’avons eu d’autre choix que de faire fonctionner très fortement la seule climatisation disponible afin d’essayer de rafraîchir le reste de l’appartement. Résultat : la chambre climatisée était glaciale tandis que les autres pièces restaient trop chaudes. Mon fils, qui dormait dans cette chambre, a terminé le séjour avec une grosse angine et mon mari est également tombé malade.
Le plus regrettable est que la propriétaire savait que les climatisations ne fonctionnaient pas et ne nous en a informés qu’au moment de la remise des clés, alors que notre réservation avait été effectuée environ un mois auparavant. Si nous avions été prévenus avant notre arrivée, nous aurions pu décider de chercher un autre logement. J’ai trouvé ce manque d’information particulièrement regrettable et peu correct.
Autre problème important : la chasse d’eau des toilettes ne fonctionnait pas du tout. Nous étions obligés d’utiliser le tuyau d’eau présent dans les toilettes pour évacuer manuellement après chaque passage. Le débit d’eau était par ailleurs très faible. Pour un logement proposé à la location, disposer de toilettes fonctionnelles me paraît être un minimum indispensable.
L’appartement est également très vieillissant et aurait réellement besoin d’une rénovation. Dans la cuisine, certains placards sont très abîmés, avec des éléments qui semblent prêts à tomber, et une forte odeur de moisissure se dégage de l’intérieur.
Enfin, à notre arrivée sous une chaleur très importante, nous aurions apprécié trouver au minimum une bouteille d’eau fraîche dans le réfrigérateur.
