The hotel is definitely a unique place. It feels like staying in a castle, which makes for a memorable experience. The rooms are very spacious, the bed was comfortable, and it was nice having tea, coffee and a TV in the room. My room opened onto the pool, and despite being on a busy road, it was surprisingly quiet at night. The staff were excellent, arranging transport to the airport and making everything easy. There are plenty of food options nearby, and it's a convenient place to stay if you're travelling between Bukit Lawang and the airport. Overall, I thought it offered good value for money.
The bathroom had a very unusual layout, which felt a bit strange. When I went out onto the balcony, there was a bonfire or rubbish fire burning behind the property, and the smoke drifted onto the balcony, making it unpleasant to go outside. Apart from nearby restaurants, there isn't much to do in the immediate area. I also left early, so I wasn't able to try the breakfast.
