This ex pub/hotel was quite exceptionally spacious. The large kitchen is superb. Lots of easy private parking on site. An excellent situation for visiting major attractions in that part of the peaks - Mam Tor, Millersdale, Castletown, Tideswell etc all at a very short drive. Hope station is a five minute drive away, and Bradwell, an attractive town, has good facilities including an excellent co-op.
No real complaints. In an ideal world the beds would have been queen size rather than traditional four foot six. And the dishwasher could have done with a bit of attention, as glasses did not always come out perfectly clean unless plates were scraped and rinsed.

Great place for big groups or family gatherings, we wanted somewhere we could all stay together under one roof to celebrate mum's 80th birthday and it was ideal. Extremely well equipped kitchen with plenty of cutlery, crockery, cookware, bakeware, gadgets, tableware, glasses for every drink imaginable, double full sized fan ovens and multifunction microwave, 2 full sized fridges and freezers, 2 kettles and toasters, dishwasher, washing machine, loads of cupboard space, breakfast bars with comfy stools and a decent sized wall mounted tv. The dining area has a huge table with plenty of space for everyone to sit comfortably. Comfortable chairs and sofas in the sitting areas and a huge tv. The bar was great (we stocked it up well with our drinks and a few passerbys actually came to the door thinking it was still a pub 🤣) even has a fridge and ice bucket. There's a selection of board games available. The original pub toilets are there which was great for those of us with mobility issues as we didn't have to go upstairs to the loo (they are rather low though, but there are grab bars). Hand wash and toilet rolls were plentiful. The 4 ensuite bedrooms on the first floor are spacious , tastefully decorated with comfortable beds and pillows. They all had TV's and fans. Mine had a hairdryer (don't know about the others) Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. All have dressing tables with mirrors and stools and there are plenty of plug sockets. One bedroom has an ensuite with a bath and shower above it and the others have roomy shower cubicles with decent and easy to use showers. Floor mat, towels and flannels provided. On the second floor (the stairs are a bit steep) there are a further 2 bedrooms sharing a decent sized shower room. One is a twin and the other has a single and double. Fans were provided and there are also tables and chairs. There is good wifi throughout.
If I'm being picky, I'd have to say that although it was very clean in all the places that mattered, it would benefit from a deep clean - we did find a few pieces of crockery that needed washing, the table was sticky and there were crumbs in some kitchen drawers. However this in no way spoiled our stay and I would definitely book again.
