Lovely location, it did take a night to get used to the sound of the river, but there had been a lot of rain. The proximity to amazing walks was brilliant. The position was really great.
The cottage overall was really cosy and the addition of a few logs for the woodburner was very welcome.
Nothing really, just a bit more clarity on the rubbish collection would have been handy. The signs were outside on the back patio, but it might be better to have them by the back door inside so that the collection isn't missed.

We had a lovely week in this property, which was clean, tidy and in a great location, being only a short walk to local shops, bars and restaurants. However, there were a few practical things that could be improved to make the stay more comfortable.
On arrival we had trouble accessing the front door key as the key lock box was damaged. It was very difficult to lower the covering panel to reveal the tumblers to enter the property code. Fortunately we had tools in our vehicle are were able to release the covering panel.
The daily parking permits were not available on arrival, although the rental company quickly explained where to find them (in unopened post, which I was a little uncomfortable opening). Once sorted, parking was fine.
There were no instructions for the kitchen appliances, heating or waste collection, so I had to look up instructions online. The bins and recycling containers in the garden were also already full when we arrived. A few basic items such as rubbish bags, a dishwasher tablet and washing machine tablet, along with a small welcome pack, would have been appreciated.
The main issue was the living room seating. The two sofas had clearly seen better days, with the seats badly collapsed and very uncomfortable, and as they were the only seating this made relaxing in the evenings difficult. A few coat hooks in the hallway would also be a useful addition.
Overall, it is a lovely house and we enjoyed our stay, but a little more attention to these practical details would bring it more in line with what we would expect from a property of this standard.
