Ty Mawr family holiday

I would strongly advise others to think carefully before booking this property.

When we arrived at the property it was unlocked, but instead of finding our accommodation, there was a young family's belongings inside. It had clearly already been let to someone else. The owners tried to blame Booking.com for a double booking, but that doesn't add up. The property owners are the ones who provide guests with the property's address, access instructions, and house rules—not Booking.com. They knew exactly who had been given access to the property, via messages. To make matters worse, they responded when they eventually answered their mobiles by saying they "understood our frustration," while refusing to accept responsibility. We were left stranded and had to find alternative accommodation at our own expense, despite them already having taken our payment. I'm sure they'll reply to this review claiming it wasn't their fault, that Booking.com double-booked the property, and that "mistakes happen." However, I don't believe that's an honest explanation. They accepted our booking and payment, gave us the information when I contacted them all while another party was booked to occupying it at the same time. Whether the conflicting booking came through Booking.com or another rental platform is irrelevant—the responsibility for managing availability rests with the property owners, not the guests. This experience completely disrupted our trip, cost us additional money, and left us without the accommodation we had booked. I would strongly advise others to think carefully before booking this property.
