The location is perfect and right at the end of the main street in Akureyri. The only people who may dislike such a spot is if you are very sensitive to noise, although the city is usually quiet at night. The apartment is spacious, and the beds were quite comfortable and did not feel old and overly used. Right next to coffee/bakery/restuarants. Parking isn't a big deal as the public parking spots are just a 1-minute walk away. The value was fair and not overpriced.
We felt the apartment could be taken better care of. It is a lovely apartment in a perfect location, so it has amazing potential. However, it felt quite dirty and was only clean on the surface (but quite dirty under things or in the couches, etc...). The pots and pans were very used, and the metal was chipping away, so we didn't want to use them. TV remotes were all broken or missing batteries; some lights were missing or broken. It was nothing major, but it all added up to a feeling like the owner needs to put some money back into the apartment to make it reach its true potential. What could be a 10/10 rental feels more like a 6-7/10. The value was fair however, it was not overly priced which was nice.

The view is beautiful and the apartment is perfectly located in the main town square, 10 minutes from tour bus pick ups at the harbour and at the edge of the main shopping street. Supermarkets are about 10-12 minutes on foot, but there are restaurants very close by. Beds are comfortable. Dishwasher, washer, and dryer were a great addition.
The apartment was clean, but not spotless. It was a bit worn in places. The pans in the kitchen are non-stick, but the coating has been scratched, so you may not want to use these. It was OK overall, hence the rating. We didn't use the balcony at all, mainly because of the weather, but there are pidgeons and the furniture didn't seem that inviting. It would have great views though.
