Good location, nice exterior
Let’s start with the broken promises. Not a view (garden doesn’t count). No WiFi. Not a ”super nice” flat.
Let’s move on to basic expectations. Coffee cups but no coffee maker. (This is Sweden!) No darkening curtains. (This is Sweden!) ”I hope the previous guests left the place reasonably clean.” (Actual quote. And no, they didn’t.)
On top of that I can list 50 things that were broken, haphazardly mended or just weird. Like the ceiling lamp and said curtains (in the closet), the gigantic TV with no way to connect anything, slanted bar table, two pull-out beds but only space for one of them. In and of themselves, nothing major, but everything adds up to a depressing whole. There is just no love.
Bottom line, if you rent out a place you’ve got to be able to imagine yourself living there yourself, a weekend getaway, same as your guests. These hosts don’t. They hate the place.
