The house was lovely, quaint, traditional, and cozy. Staying here felt like staying at my grandparents house. It was fun and interesting looking at all of the antique furniture and decorations when we arrived, especially the old wood stove. There were plenty of dishes, cookware, and silverware provided for us, and a coffeemaker, toaster, modern electric oven/stove, and microwave are all provided. The TV works well and had channels in both English and German available. The outside of the house was freshly painted when we arrived and the lawn was freshly mowed.
The location of the property was very nice and secluded on a country gravel road and not far from town. There is also a lovely swimming spot on the lake just a 8-10 minute walk/2 minute drive from the house. Shopping is also only about a 10 minute drive away at ICA in Virserum.
It would have been nice to have wifi/wlan, but honestly if you're staying here you are here to enjoy nature and not the internet. Luckily our phones worked here and we used our hotspots for internet instead.
The flies here are also really bad because of the cow farms surrounding the property. There are no screens on any of the windows, so if it's warm and you try to air out the house a ton of flies will inevitably come inside, but the owner had provided 3 different fly swatters in multiple rooms of the house to combat this problem. By the time we left there were 30 dead flies on the kitchen floor alone. Grilling outside is fine, but having a picnic is near impossible because you will eventually be swarmed with flies.
