Location, very quiet, peaceful, just birds singing. Comfy bed, warm cottage. Easy walking distance to village. Nice log burner. A bigger window to see the view would have been awesome.
Finding the cottage in the dark was a total nightmare, no signs to direct you, not even when you have to turn off the track. Rang twice to get directions, no answer twice. Only sign is when you are at the cottage, signs along the track would have helped so much. Drive was so steep up to the cottage, the wheels just spun on the gravel, there is a space at the bottom of the drive to park but not big enough for our van, and then a steep climb to take bags up if you left it there. Cottage could have been cleaner, the baking trays were dirty and greasy, so take tin foil with you. Needs new pillows as very flat. Nice log burner, but the glass was so dirty you couldn't see the fire. Stairs to bedroom not wide, wooden and very steep, be careful if wearing socks. Definitely needs two recliner chairs rather than the very uncomfortable sofa, hardly any padding in the seats, had to use the two scatter cushions to sit on, and the two from the bedroom. A light on the stairs would help as the bathroom is downstairs. Empty bread bags in the bread bin dated 7th August!!
