Kein Personal vor Ort. Der per eMail zugesandte Zugangs-Code (Zimmer) hat nicht funktioniert, die im gleichen eMail angegebene Telefon-Nummer (für Notfälle).war falsch!. An der Scheibe des benachbarten Restaurants hing ein Zettel mit der richtigen Nummer.
Ausrüstung spartanisch! Die Betten quietschen! Kein Frühstück, auch keines in der Nähe.

First the good things: The room was very large, lots of room to spread out. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean. For this area (a very popular mountain resort), the price was very good.
There were a couple of glitches. First, this hotel uses on-line checkin--you check in on-line, are assigned a room and then get a code to open the door. That worked pretty well, we arrived and entered the code to access the room. However, when we left for dinner, we pushed the button to lock the door, and nothing happened. We had to call the manager, who eventually had someone bring a physical key that we could use to lock and unlock the room for the rest of our stay. On later examination, I found that one of the batteries in the locking mechanism was missing, so it could not have been locked when we arrived. How long the battery had been missing is anyone's guess.
Second, Grand Lake was having an unusual heat spell, and when we went to bed the room was quite hot. The central heating did not include any cooling, but there was a self-contained AC unit in one corner of the room. However, it had not been properly installed; the vent hose for the hot air was just coiled behind the machine. If we had tried to use it, it would have made a lot of noise and blown cold air out of the front of the unit and hot air out the hose in back--no net cooling the room at all. Fortunately the evenings in Grand Lake are usually cool and we could open the window to cool the room (although I think there were no screens in our window).

There was free ice in the lobby and some cafes nearby. It was located close to the entrance to RMNP.
Upon arrival, at 3pm, our door code didn’t work. We had a helpful housekeeper who changed the code so we could get in. When we entered the room, it was very evident that the room had not been properly cleaned. The floor had not been vacuumed and there was someone else’s left over food container, in the refrigerator. The housekeeper, who was working very hard to clean all the rooms by herself, once again helped us. She ran the vacuum and cleaned the refrigerator. Later, we noticed the back bedroom had a huge wet spot on the carpet. I called the hotel number and someone answered and said they would send someone over. But, no one ever came to address the situation. We had to put a towel over the area and avoid walking there. Upon checkout, I let the officer attendant know about the wet carpet. She halfheartedly apologized. But, offered no discount.
