Location! Camden Town can be a little gritty and grimy, so you have to be willing to overlook some of that. It has been this way forever, though, and it is part of the neighborhood’s character. Despite the grittier surroundings, we always felt very safe.
The flat is close to the Northern Line, which made it incredibly easy to get around London. We also loved being able to walk along the canal to King’s Cross or over to Regent’s Park.
There is a pub just two doors down, so you can sometimes hear the lively sounds of the neighborhood. However, the flat was surprisingly quiet overall. Even with World Cup games taking place, it was completely silent at night.
We appreciated having a kettle and a place to make tea, and Sainsbury’s is nearby for breakfast items, tea and other supplies. The back door opens onto a small area, which was especially helpful for letting in fresh air because we stayed during a heat wave (couldn't sit outside, but could let the cool air in).
The Wi-Fi was strong and reliable.
We also loved having the washing machine and drying rack and used both during our stay. We brought our own detergent, although a previous guest had kindly left some behind.
The shower curtain had a 9-inch line of orange and black mold along the bottom—yuck! I almost went out and bought a new one for our family. This seems like such an easy and inexpensive problem to fix but instead it set the tone (and honestly, I would not contact the rental company for this once in the flat, this should be something they fix before our arrival).
The smell coming from the dishwasher was atrocious. Luckily, it was mostly contained when the door was closed, but I could still smell it from certain areas of the flat.
We requested early entry but never received a clear yes or no. The response was simply that it “might not be possible,” so we assumed the answer was no.
The pillows were hard and uncomfortable, one had yellow stains on it, and two did not have pillowcases. I was not expecting the Ritz, but clean pillowcases and pillows that do not seem like the absolute cheapest available or someone's cast offs, should be a minimum standard of comfort and cleanliness. And, worst of all, the sheets had someone else's hair on them.
There is also no full-length mirror. I knew this before booking, but since several previous reviewers had requested one be added, I assumed this small and relatively inexpensive improvement might have been made. Unfortunately, it has not. This made me think that although the rental company is responsive to messages, it may be less responsive when it comes to actually addressing concerns. That is worth considering when deciding whether to rent this flat.
Someone from the rental company, other than the cleaner, should visit the property, inspect it carefully and consider the details from a guest’s perspective, especially given the rental price. They should also review the repeated comments from previous guests and make the relatively simple improvements being requested.
The frustrating thing is that the flat is about 88% great. However, several nagging and easily fixable issues remain

Large appartment in a fantastic location, very close to metro, bus and camden town, still very quiet and comfortable! its a separate building and rooms are spacious. The staff has been hugely helpful for us - much appreciated!

Family of 5. 2 adults, 3 children (9, 6 & 2)
Fast response from the host. Very easy check 8n instructions. Excellent location. The heating was on a timer which was perfect for mornings and evenings. Washing machine which was very handy with having 3 young children. Beds very comfortable. The laundry smelt lovely and fresh. Kitchen had all utensils you would need. Sainsburys supermarket a short walk away, with Camden Town underground just a touch further.
We all had a wonderful stay and have already been recommending this property to our friends, family and colleagues.
Could possibly do with a blackout blind/curtains in the front bedroom but as we stayed in February, the sun didn't rise too early. But come the Summer, I feel the bedroom could be too bright. Just my opinion but affect alter our stay whatsoever.
