False advertising & terrible management

Do yourself a favour and don't book this place. The house itself is nice, and some of the people who handled our check-in were kind and helpful. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end.

The property is not in the advertised location. The listing claims it is a 13-minute walk from Bain Boeuf Beach, but in reality it is around a 50-minute walk away. The route is neither pleasant nor particularly walkable, so a car is essentially necessary if you want to visit the beach. As soon as we realised the location had been misrepresented, we contacted the host. After a frustrating two-day WhatsApp exchange, they acknowledged the issue and offered compensation. Since we already had a car, we decided to continue our stay, and at check-out we were given a contact to arrange the partial reimbursement. At that point, we were satisfied with how the situation appeared to be handled. However, once we contacted them to request the promised refund, everything changed. It took weeks for them to even acknowledge our messages and confirm the amount. They then made the reimbursement conditional on us leaving a 10/10 review. We were willing to leave a positive review if the matter was resolved and the listing was corrected to reflect the property's actual location. Instead, they refused to issue the refund, claiming they couldn't trust that we would leave a perfect review, so they would only reimburse us after the review was posted. Two months after our stay, the listing still falsely advertises the property's location. What disappointed us most was not just the inaccurate listing, but how the situation was handled. Rather than taking responsibility for misleading guests and resolving the issue fairly, they attempted to use the promised reimbursement as leverage to secure a perfect review. Future guests deserve accurate information so they can make an informed decision. It's such a shame because this situation could have been resolved easily and fairly for both sides. Had they honoured the compensation they promised and corrected the listing, we would have been happy to leave a positive review reflecting how the issue was handled.
