The host is very welcoming and always available for an interesting chat. The daily staff were very friendly and kind.
The breakfast was Incredible and delicious, lovingly prepared each day with some nice daily variations. The decor is beautiful and very tasteful. Location is on a main road, which comes with pros and cons - there are a few local cafes, shops and other hotels. Bentota Beach is gorgeous.
If staying, you must visit the Geoffery Bawa house across the road!
Whilst this place is marketed as a boutique hotel, it feels a bit more like a homestay as the host lives on site and is generally around most of the day, often occupying the only sofa area. Grown up decor and tasteful pool area does mean the stay is not really geared up for family with children.
There is a big fly problem which needs addressing - makes spending time in the communal areas less appealing

Very homely, welcoming staff that couldn’t do enough for us. Felt peaceful and restorative. Massages were AMAZING!! The location is great, the staff full of recommendations and can help with trips and tours. I would love to stay there again! It’s also a few minute walk to the beach.

Everything. Beautiful, thoughtfully developed villa with an easy relaxed ambience. Mark and his team go the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect. Delicious varied breakfasts served each morning. The villa has its own small pool with loungers, in a lovely serene garden setting. An easy 5 minute walk to the stunning beach. Of the six accommodations we used during our month long visit to Sri Lanka, Bentota Luxe is the best by quite a way.
