We would never book this property again and would not recommend it.
The house is clean.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of important information we wish we had known before booking. The electricity is very limited, and after we experienced a problem the owner told us that we should have asked her permission before plugging in an electrical appliance. This had never been communicated to us. The owner also told us that the water should be boiled before drinking — extremely concerning information to hear only after we had nearly given it to our small child. NONE of these restrictions or the requirement to obtain permission before plugging in appliances had been communicated to us before our stay!
The outdoor area was disappointing for a summer stay: many horseflies, practically no usable shade and no parasol. The refrigerator is very small with no freezer. Considering that we paid around €650 for three nights, we found the value for money extremely poor.
The worst part happened after our stay. After we complained to Booking.com, approximately ONE MONTH LATER the owner accused us of damaging both the electrical system and two doors. She claimed that our 15-year-old Pekingese, who can barely move and was with us throughout the stay, had damaged the doors. We categorically dispute these allegations.
She then repeatedly contacted me by telephone regarding the alleged damage until Booking.com intervened and instructed the property to communicate with them instead.
Our reservation was also marked as a “no-show” despite the fact that we had actually arrived and stayed at the property.
We requested a refund for the unused part of our stay. Booking.com ultimately informed us in writing that the property did not authorize the remaining refund, meaning that we lost most of the amount paid.
Future guests should be clearly informed about the limitations concerning electricity and water before booking. Based on our experience, we would never return or recommend this property.
