The space was great for our multigenerational family group. We enjoyed Hood River and activities here. Location is good and parking is good for 2 vehicles. because it is difficult to manage meals for a large family group in restaurants, we cooked 2 dinners at Sherman retreat (grilled meat and steelhead trout) and had takeout pizza one night.Kitchen is well stocked with spices. The kitchen, bedrooms, and bathroom facilities were excellent.
We were not 100% happy with Sherman retreat. We have shared some issues privately with the rental agency. Stairs (50 from entry to kitchen) were too much for the older people. In addition to the beautiful river, the property looks north over the town that is transected by an active train line and interstate 84. We live in cities and did not mind the noise, but people looking for a quiet stay that is less expensive might want to book a place outside of the town.
