We had a wonderful long-term stay (1.5 months) at this charming and private guesthouse in Bentota.
The villa offers just one guest room, located on the second floor of a separate building above the kitchen, which makes the stay feel peaceful and secluded. The room is accessed by a narrow staircase.
The accommodation is thoughtfully equipped: a spacious bathroom with two showers, a comfortable bedroom with a king-size bed, and a small but functional kitchen with everything needed for cooking. Air conditioning works well, and there is both a private balcony and a cozy shared patio area.
A special highlight is the hospitality: Kalyani prepares truly delicious and very generous breakfasts, enough to keep you full for most of the day.
Any minor issues (such as occasional interruptions with the water supply) were handled promptly and efficiently.
The location is also great: only a 5-minute walk to a well-maintained beach with lifeguards, sunbeds, surfing lessons, and a sheltered area for safe swimming. Shops and restaurants are within a 15-minute walk.
Many thanks to Jegath and Kalyani for their warm welcome and consistently high standard of care—we would happily stay here again.

We stayed at New Star Villa for 10 days and had a wonderful experience. The place is new, very clean, and thoughtfully designed for guests’ comfort. It is located about 1.2 km from Bentota Beach and the city, which is very convenient.
The room was well designed, nicely decorated, and equipped with all essential amenities, including a kitchen setup. The bathroom was spacious and modern. The host family was extremely helpful and made our stay comfortable.
Highly recommended — 9/10.
