I loved the location just opposite the cathedral, spacious, clean, comfortable. Can have a morning coffee or evening wine on the balcony watching the cathedral bell tower ring.
And it gets better, daily cleaning service. This is so much better than a hotel room.
And of course the friendly staff helping me whenever I needed.
Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a place special in Funchal.

Die Lage in Funchal ist nicht zu überbieten. Cafés und Restaurants in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft, Hafen, Seilbahn, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten vor der Haustüre! Sehr große Wohnung, zwei Bäder und Toiletten, schneller Aufzug, Türcode statt Schlüssel, gute Küche (ohne Gewürze), bequeme Betten, gutes Wohnzimmer(-Mobiliar), einfach top!
Nachts mitunter etwas lauter, aber gut isolierte Fenster

The place is very clean, tidy, modern and well located.
1) The providers of the accomodation promised two bathrooms in the description of the place, but there was only one bathroom. So, we in fact paid for something which was even not included. This was really disappointing for us. 2) Right after our arrival, the host asked us to pay a city tax for 2 people in cash for a 7-day stay (28 eur). And now - already being back home from Funchal - I noticed that in one of the mails which I had received before our stay, it is said that the tax is already included in the total price... Maybe, it happened by accident (?) and I should have checked the situation while being in Funchal. 3) The bathroom needs some coat-racks because there is no place to hang towels/ pyjamas while taking a shower.
