The owners were brilliant in terms of communication and were immediately all over it when we needed support; even at 1am which was super helpful. It was nice to have our own space as well as easy access to a shop and pool. Location was ideal as it was not too central that it was disturbing but it was 30 min walking distance to the souks. The ‘resort’ felt secure and had security on the door at all times. It was useful that the property had towels and a washing machine if needed.
Unfortunately it was quite dirty. All the dishes and cooking ware needed washing before use, the floors were dirty and none of the bedding smelt clean. It was a shame that it didn’t come with the basics such as dish soap and toilet roll. We could have done with some more information when we were left with the property such as what was accessible on site (restaurants, shops etc) as well as the rules around the pool; including where it was as we had to locate this by wandering around and following people in swimwear. While we stayed, quite a lot of utilities in the apartment did brake during simple use. The washing machine started to smoke which rendered it unsafe and that also blew the electricity, the hot water was down at one point, the air con leaked and it’s worth noting that the shower is handheld only with no rack.
