The swimming pool was lovely, although it would have been nice if a sun lounger had been provided. The apartment is 5 minutes’ walk from the nearest supermarket, 10 minutes’ walk from a bus stop (where we caught a bus to Sirmione) and 15-20 minutes’ walk from three restaurants. Apart from that, there’s not much else around, which was fine for us as we had a car and had chosen a quiet neighbourhood. The garage parking was useful for our small car.
We arrived in 30+ degree temperatures and the aircon didn’t work. My partner had to sleep on the balcony. The next morning he messaged Marco, whose reply was that it had been working before we arrived. My partner asked him to come and see for himself. I later messaged Marco and asked if he would be kind enough to come as these things were better resolved in person. Neither of us ever received a reply, but in the late afternoon someone turned up. While on the phone to, I presume, a colleague in the office, she concluded that the aircon unit had been “blocked” and she couldn’t remember how to “unblock” it. We were unable to use the sitting room upstairs. We were offered neither an apology nor a partial refund. In fact, her manner was rather brusque, which can’t be put down to language differences, as my partner is Italian.
