Heavy construction next door - host agreed to cancel reservation

I didn´t stay in the apartment but at first sight it looked decent and seemed reasonably clean. Straight-forward communication with the host who was very friendly. The host agreed to cancel my reservation when I figured out that there was heavy construction going on next door that would not have allowed me to rest during the day.

No previous information about very loud construction (hammering and drilling) going on in the neighboring apartment. The lift looked quite terrifying, totally run-down and full of ugly graffiti but I was reassured by the host that it worked well.
