This is a small, independently run property, and the warmth of the staff is its strongest feature. The mother-daughter team, along with the additional help they bring in, are clearly working hard to build something here, and they were consistently kind, accommodating, and willing to do whatever they could to make my stay more comfortable.
The room was dry and clean, with an en suite bathroom, and the breakfasts were pretty good.
Some areas of the property could use additional investment. For example, I don't know that a fly swatter is the first thing you want to see in a room when you are staying at a "spa," and I don't know that I would call this place a spa, per se. The towels are also due for an upgrade, both in quality and color, and appear to predate the current ownership.
The common areas could also benefit from a little attention. Some basic AV equipment would improve the shared spaces, and ambient music during breakfast would make the dining room feel less awkward when only a few guests are present. The decor didn't match the exterior of the house, though that is obviously subjective.
I also needed to work during part of my stay, and the Wi-Fi was unreliable in the mornings, so anyone planning to work remotely should keep that in mind.
Still, whatever the property currently lacks in polish, the staff makes up for it in warmth and accommodation. They are genuinely attentive and seem invested in improving the place. With a few relatively modest upgrades, this could become a much stronger property.
