A new, stylishly furnished apartment (essentially a studio) at a fantastic location, right in the city center.
The air conditioning works perfectly, and the sofa is comfortable. The bed is comfortable, and the shower is great. The Wi-Fi connection is strong, and there is a large smart TV.
There are countless restaurants, cafés, and shops nearby. A Lidl supermarket is within walking distance.
Banská Bystrica is a charming city featuring a beautiful central square lined with historic buildings, a castle, and various other landmarks. The Museum of the Slovak National Uprising (SNP) is a ten-minute walk away.
The instructions didn't specify which of the six key boxes was the right one. We also would have liked to know that you cannot reach the studio by car (meaning you can't pull up to unload luggage, either).
The entrance area is rather shabby. After the shared front door, you have to pass through a curtain, go through another door, and climb a narrow staircase.
The windows in the room only open in the tilt position. The curtains let in a lot of light. According to the Booking description, the studio (Deluxe Suite with 1 Bedroom and City View) has a terrace (and the photos suggest the same) but it actually turns out to be a shared garden downstairs, all the way at the end of the hallway.
We found the online check-in process via the Guesty app very time-consuming (uploading passport copies, taking a selfie, entering credit card details even though the room rate had already been paid via Booking). Also, the tourist tax had to be paid via a separate link sent to us; we didn't like this, as people are always warned against such links. Undoubtedly all very convenient for the landlord, but not customer-friendly.
Despite these remarks we had a very pleasant stay.

Amazing apartment! Great location, had everything we needed to feel at home. Comfortable beds, beautiful bathroom and very clean!
It could do with a blind / curtain across the main entrance door for more privacy. Also it would’ve been nice to have been made aware about the on going construction onsite.

Die Lage war perfekt. Man war mitten in der Stadt, in der Nähe von allen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Die Brücke zum Bahnhof wird leider gerade umgebaut, aber es gibt eine andere Brücke sowie eine Bushaltestelle, von der man zum anderen Bahnhof fahren kann.
Die Wohnung war selbst sauber und perfekt ausgestattet, obwohl sie klein war.
Es wäre nett gewesen, vonseiten des Betreibers eine Vorwarnung wegen der Baustelle bekommen zu haben. Die Bauarbeiter waren nett und haben versucht, die Beeinträchtigung auf das Minimum zu reduzieren, aber es war trotzdem etwas schräg, kein vollständiges Schutzgeländer im oberen Stock zu haben, und teilweise sogar beim Heimkommen mit Staub konfrontiert zu werden. Es ist eh klar, dass die Bauarbeiten irgendwann gemacht werden müssen, aber eine Information im Voraus wäre nett gewesen.
