Misrepresented, uncomfortable, and intensely noisy from the highway.
Overall the place looks nice. It's close to the Arch if that's what your trip is centered around.
I wasn't informed that parking is $75 extra and 1.5 blocks away is considered "on site" until it was too late to cancel. They sent a text message with a "friendly reminder" as first contact. It's not on the ground floor as listed. The place has no ventilation in the kitchen or bathrooms. If you cook you will smell it for a while, same goes for the bathroom. It's located under a highway, and you hear cars all night. There's a street that runs behind the bedroom wall and you hear cars from that too, all night. The mattress is foam and uncomfortable.
We left early and moved for the rest of our stay. We didn't ask for a refund or anything, just if the host wanted us to let them know when we'd be out. The host asked us what was wrong, and when we told them. We were told no changes could be made for us, the highway is listed, downtowns are like this, and informed that they have tons of positive reviews, so our concerns didn't matter because we're in the "1%". Again, we never asked for anything, but the host was rude. I did tell the host "You can't please everyone" and I meant that, but at least the listing should be factual.
Booking customer service was contacted and we were told that we would hear from the host in 24 hours with a solution, but they would want a guarantee we wouldn't leave a bad review. They never contacted us outside of the auto check out message and the "please don't leave us a negative review" auto-message. We've stay in other STL lofts that are great, this one was not.
