Ramla Palace House

The location is at the end of a nice quiet road, surrounded by fields and small farms. It is a peaceful environment. The host arranged a nice hot air balloon trip for us.

I thought it was odd that the name of the place (literally written on the wall) is not the same name as on Booking. What also stood out to me were the reviews, which are all written or published on or around 13/14 July this year. We stayed in the ground floor apartment, which has 2 separate beds. And although indeed, you have the whole place to yourself, it is not like you can utilize the living room / kitchen: there is a small 2-pit electrical cooking plate and a small pan, but no cutting boards, cutlery, bowls or plates. The living room gets warm really fast, and with only a fan, it does not cool down. Lastly, there is no sofa, just separate chairs (which are at least pretty comfortable), but no TV like on the photos. The bedroom then is OK in size and it has airconditioning. This needs to be on, or the room will be too hot to stay in. It has a window, but no mosquito nets, so if you leave it open at night, insects will fly in. An earlier review mentions the fact that the beds are made with no sheets, and this is true! Only a sheet to cover the mattress, but nothing to cover the duvet.. luckily I found a sheet in a cabinet so I could cover myself against the duvet. Probably the reason why we left earlier was the mattress. It is absolutely rock hard, and kept me awake the entire night. The hot water boiler had not been turned on when we entered the room, so the first shower was cold. Lastly, the garden: it has a table, chairs and a bench, but very soon the seating area is in the sun, which is very very hot. I put a chair out on the porch which made it a bit more comfortable. Then breakfast: I don’t understand why other reviews are raving about it, as it is literally 3 super hard boiled eggs, flat bread, apricot jam on a plate, potato puree (?) and cream cheese on a plate. Sometimes it is difficult to describe why a place is not what you had hoped for.
