Mutsviri offers a truly rare combination: you stay in the wilderness of Zambezi National Park, with wildlife around the lodge and safari drives starting right from camp, yet Victoria Falls and the town are only a short drive away. It was wonderful to experience the Falls, enjoy a relaxed stroll through town, explore Chobe in Botswana and go rhino tracking in Zambia, all while returning to the same peaceful and intimate lodge instead of constantly changing accommodation.
Abi and Tendayi made us feel at home from the moment we arrived and cared for us like members of their own family. Pardon, the head waiter, was exceptionally charming and attentive; we never lacked anything, and he seemed to anticipate our needs before we had even thought of them ourselves. The food was fresh, healthy and delicious, with plenty of vegetables and local ingredients, complemented by excellent personal drink recommendations.
We travel extensively throughout Africa, but we have honestly never stayed in such a beautiful tented chalet. It was incredibly spacious, luxurious and thoughtfully designed, allowing us to feel close to the wilderness without compromising on comfort. The knowledgeable guides, modern safari vehicles, beautiful sundowners in the national park and the warmth of the entire team made this much more than a visit to Victoria Falls, it felt like a complete and deeply personal African journey.
There was honestly nothing we did not like. Our only regret was that the stay went by far too quickly, and we would have loved to remain for several more nights.

Mutsviri was the perfect base for experiencing Victoria Falls and the surrounding region. The helicopter flight over Victoria Falls and Batoka Gorge was absolutely breathtaking, the Zambezi River cruise was wonderfully peaceful, and our day trip to Chobe in Botswana combined an excellent game drive with a beautiful boat safari on the Chobe River.
Some of our most memorable moments happened right at the lodge. We watched buffaloes from the viewing deck and heard hyenas calling during the night. Being surrounded by wildlife in Zambezi National Park while still enjoying the comfort of such a peaceful and luxurious lodge was absolutely stunning.
Abi and Tendayi welcomed us personally when we arrived and immediately made us feel at home. Their warmth and genuine hospitality continued throughout our entire stay. Pardon, our waiter and bartender, was an absolute delight. He was charming, attentive and genuinely interested in hearing our stories and learning more about where we came from. He often seemed to know what we needed before we even had to ask and made every meal and evening at the bar even more enjoyable.
The food was another highlight. Every meal was fresh, beautifully prepared and full of flavour, with plenty of vegetables and locally sourced ingredients. We also appreciated the thoughtful drink recommendations and the personal, relaxed service.
We felt completely safe and well looked after throughout our stay. A security guard was present at the lodge, providing additional peace of mind in a discreet and unobtrusive way.
Everything was organised smoothly by the knowledgeable local team. We could experience Victoria Falls from the air, cruise along the Zambezi, explore Chobe and enjoy wildlife directly from the lodge without changing accommodation or having to coordinate different providers ourselves.
We genuinely had no complaints. Everything was handled with such care and attention that there was nothing we would have changed.
