The Ormerod

Friendly and helpful hosts. Good sized room with comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

The fan in the bathroom was noisy and lasted a long time. I got around this by having the bathroom door ajar. So no major issue.

The Ormerod is great value for money, in fact I don't know how they can turn much of a profit with the prices they charge. The breakfast was excellent, cooked fresh to order, piping hot, plentiful and branded products like Kelloggs used. Good quality bacon and fresh tomatoes & mushrooms, not tinned. We thoroughly enjoyed it! The place was clean, fresh towels & bedding and the room was serviced, beds made, tea tray topped up etc. Deco and furnishings are a bit dated, like visiting your nans place, but in a really nice, homely, welcoming way. Location is great for access to Burnley's beautiful parks, Towneley Hall and a 10 mins walk to the town centre and Turf Moor football ground. We enjoyed our visit and would stay again.

There's nothing I disliked but deco could perhaps be easily and cheaply updated to suit a wider clientele.

On arrival we were warmly welcomed by one of the owners 'Kev'. He was extemely welcoming and made us feel right at home at the B&B. The B&B is a traditional accommodation offering a separate communal lounge area and also a dining room, we had an excellent freshly cooked hot breakfast in the morning. The bed was extremely comfortable and our room was clean. We stayed for 1 night during the R & B Festival in Colne approx 15 min drive away, so the accommodation suited our needs regarding the location.

The tv wouldn't connect to the internet unfortunately in room 6 for Netflix. It didn't have any impact on our stay, what little tv we watched we were able to access the basic channels so no drama.

Price location and breakfsst.

Nothing not to like. Although it felt 1970's.
