The hostess was awesome and very helpful. The apartment was authentic Mexican living in the center of the city. We had strong security doors, gas cooking, fans, and this place is surprisingly quiet for a Mexican City. It is tucked on a side street near the markets, restaurants, street food, cafes, parks and uber is quick to whisk you away to your destination. This was a combo of family living, youthful hostel living with less crowds and commotion, and I had access to the living areas. I loved drying my laundry on the roof top. Loved the resident pets. The hostess is a profound artist and the other room mate is a chef. This was a warm, enjoyable and safe experience! I stayed for a month and it was great to have a fairly new washing machine. I had mostly alone time when home, with new friends to make as well. You can learn a lot of culture this way. I watched the hostess make chili pepper oil from scratch and this is something I will never forget. It is the small things that I will remember most, but the art gallery had incredible displays. The market place was really exciting, and on the way home there was a flower market. If you are USA, leave your tastes and expectations at home and try the Mexican lifestyle. You will not regret it. Mexicans are an amazing people as is the country. I got lost one day in the wedding gown and quinticerra gown district, which made this old heart young again. The colleges were nearby with gleeful graduations. Mexico is in the top 10 happiest people and top 5 most globally attractive destinations. The food is incredible. Bring an appetite. The room was simple with a big closet, desk, and 2 house cats that watch over the place at night. They stay out of your way, but if lucky you may get a few pets and conversation. The hostess speaks intermediate English, but meet her halfway and learn a bit of Spanish.

I have no complaints at all. Great experience.
