All the facilities are there. Fairly new, so no dead bugs on walls :)
The staff could not find my booking, then didn’t give me a lower bunk bed even though they had availability.

I stayed at Chao Hostel El Nido and I’d give it a 10/10 It’s simple and basic, no luxury, but it’s amazing for the price. Everything is comfortable and functional perfect if you’re in El Nido and just need a good place to sleep. Location is great, you can walk to the back with access to corongcorong beach and amazing sunset. Its just at the back of the house. Great value for money, I’d definitely stay again.

Beds were comfortable and has curtains
Inexpensive
Rooms were tiny, no space to open your bag. Plug sockets don’t keep plugs in at all.
Ants everywhere, very dirty.
No hot water
No communal area at all
Not just no hot water, but no water at all. If you simply want to wash your hands, or flush the toilet, you need to ask staff to turn the water on, which of course I don’t want to do everytime, and can’t in the night.
It’s a new hostel, but actually feels the opposite, like neglected and old. I hope they are able to improve it so it becomes a great hostel as it is a great location.
I stay in many budget hostels, as cheap as £1 a night, but some of those have been nicer and more welcoming than this one. I don’t think it was worth the price, even though it’s low for El Nido. I ended up staying in a different hostel for my final two nights.
