Insect infested house in the middle of nowhere (no internet no signal)
Nothing was right here.
The accommodation was nothing like it was advertised.
The house was infested with ants and other insects. On the very first night, we noticed ants all over the dining table and in every bed. As a result, we ended up sleeping on the sofa in the living room. When we went upstairs, we were greeted by a huge green insect/grasshopper. Later, we also encountered what looked like worms or caterpillars.
There was no internet or mobile phone signal, even though the listing stated that internet was available. We reported the problem immediately to both Booking.com and the property owner. The owner acted as if she had no idea where this issue had come from, but we saw in previous guests' reviews that they had also experienced internet problems.
The listing stated that there was a barbecue/grill area, but there wasn't one. The only possible grilling option was the fireplace inside the house, so perhaps they considered that to be the "grill."
There was also a strong smell of soot or something burnt coming from the fireplace. We didn't notice the smell on the first night, but that was probably because the upstairs terrace door had been left open.
A hairdryer was listed as available, but there wasn't one.
The listing also stated that the entire house was on one level (which was important to us because we have a small child), but that was not true. Two of the bedrooms were upstairs, where we also encountered the insects.
All of these issues, especially while staying with a small child, forced us to find alternative accommodation.
Owner was zero help and she only said to us to contact her booking organisation "booker travel" but there isn't one that goes by that name. She gave us fake number to them. In the end our holiday was ruined and we had to pay a lot more money for emergency apartment where we could stay for the rest of our vacation.
