Carpino is renowned for its traditions, its sounds, and its culture; it is one of the capitals of Italian folk and traditional music, featuring Provençal sonnets, popular tarantellas, and unforgettable serenades, with Mediterranean rhythms that all blend together on summer nights at one of the world’s most important folk festivals, the Carpino Folk Festival.
Carpino is also a culinary destination; visitors can savor fabulous dairy products, including mozzarella and Podolico cacio cavallo, extra virgin olive oil that ranks at the top of the national niche market, legumes such as the Fava di Carpino—which has always been a huge hit, even making it into space with Samantha Cristoforetti—homemade pasta prepared in countless ways, traditional desserts, spiced olives, Apulian bread, etc.
