My bungalow in Mapacha Village apartments was beyond magical. Alessandro, the door staff and cleaners were all lovely, welcoming and very useful with giving me tips of what to do in and around Watamu. The pool and communal living area was beautiful with the surrounding palm trees which you share with one other bungalow. It also felt very private even if it is only 10-15 min walk to both Garoda beach, Short beach and also to the creek which is a must by SUPing or boat. Recommend boda bodas to get around to the main town if you're travelling solo or as a pair.
Air con in the room was also a lifesaver because Watamu is super humid 24/7!
Warning: if you don't like creepy crawlies (specifically bugs and bats) this place is probably not for you however.. As the shared kitchen is semi-outside you need to be aware of ants getting into your food if not in the fridge. The bats flying around the communal area at dusk was a seriously cool site though!
