The rest house had been recently refurbished and the rooms were nicely decorated. The AC was excellent and once I worked out how to turn on the hot water, the shower was very good.
The location is good for the airport and it is relatively quiet in a busy and noisy city. There is a nice cafe and grocery store nearby.
Unfortunately the cleanliness of the room and some communal areas was not very good. My room was not cleaned at all during my stay, despite requesting it, and tea and water were not replenished.
My room opened on to a communal balcony and the patio doors did not lock - this made me feel vulnerable as a solo woman traveller.
There was some confusion at check in, with the reception staff saying they did not have my booking and asking me to pay again.
Unfortunately the level of spoken English was not good, making it hard to communicate. In the evening or early morning the staff were found sleeping on the sofa in reception which did not feel very professional, though this may be a cultural difference.
