Terrible staff and terrible cleanliness. Would not recommend
The location is beautiful, but the road to the hotel is in very poor condition, and unfortunately, we couldn’t enjoy our stay due to several other issues.
We arrived at around 9:00 p.m. and went straight to our room, which had a balcony. Unfortunately, I immediately noticed animal droppings on the table, and the table had clearly not been cleaned properly. My wife also noticed hair on the towels provided.
After using the bathroom, my wife later developed a health issue, which made us even more uncomfortable about the cleanliness of the place.
I had planned to have breakfast there, but after seeing the condition of the room, I cancelled it immediately.
The next morning, several men were cleaning the restaurant directly above our room, creating considerable noise and disturbing our sleep. I specifically asked the staff not to make excessive noise in the morning, but instead of handling the situation professionally, I was told that some staff members were blaming me behind my back.
My normal work shift is from 4:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., so I usually sleep until around 8:00 a.m. One of the main reasons I chose this place was to get some peace and rest. Unfortunately, I did not get that.
The owner agreed to charge LKR 8,000 per night, but in my experience, the stay was nowhere near worth that amount.
There were also several basic amenities missing from the room: no tea bags, no toilet paper, no water kettle, and other basic items that I would normally expect from an accommodation at this price.
The owner was not at the property during our stay. He was friendly when we spoke, and I believe he could improve the experience significantly by managing the staff more effectively and ensuring that basic cleaning and room standards are maintained.
Overall, this stay was a major disappointment and cost us both time and money. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, peaceful, and comfortable stay.
