Disastrous

There was nothing at all to like about the property. It deserves a minus 10 at best. It was uninhabitable and we could not bring ourselves to stay for a single night.

1. Bad smell upon entry. 2. Dilapidated throughout. 3. Dirty in parts. 4. Dangerous - health and safety hazards in garden and kitchen. 5. Loud noise from trains or trams passing every circa 20 minutes. They pass behind the white fence that can be seen from the garden photos. Misrepresentation. None of the above is evident from the property advert. Unfortunately, booking.com were no help, just repeated that they could not provide a refund unless the owner agreed, but then offered £76 in booking.com travel credits!

Lovely place

Property was lovely, very clean, comfortable and well provided with everything we needed. Communication with the owner was very good.

Only slight issue was the thermostat was not where the booklet described it and we would have liked to put the heating on for a short while, but it didn't have a massive impact as there was plenty of bedding

Unfortunate circumstances, but has to be said

The place was kept clean.

I must preface this by saying that this review applies to an out of ordinary scenario, and is likely not reflective of the usual service provided, but I must nonetheless provide the feedback, as my complaint has been ignored. My stay was cancelled the same day I was meant to check in. The reason given is that the guest wanted to stay a day longer. Thus they offered to find me a place or pay the difference if I found one. All the accommodation at the time were around 200 per night, given Fresher's week, so I could not really justify getting a place that was almost double the cost of what they charged me. Didn't seem right. Fine, so they find me a place, and it's well further than I anticipated. Fine, it happens. But all that extra walking meant I was rather sweaty when I got back to the accommodation, and it was late (I first just checked in, dropped my stuff and left to go do what I had to do in town). I look for towels. No towels. Their accommodation website clearly stated they provide them, and honestly, it's kind of a given for these kinds of accommodations and these prices, but at least it was listed on the listing. But my choice was either sleep horribly feeling all sweaty, or have the shower and dry off naturally. Had to choose the second, as I needed a good night sleep. Was not fun. My hair was still wet after an hour, and can't really sleep well with wet hair. Morning after I confirmed with them whether they provide towels, and they said yes, but the provider for this accommodation doesn't. Perfect. Absolutely fantastic. After my stay they reach out, apologise for the disruption and offer a discount for the next stay. The next stay? How is that meant to help me? How do you expect me to spend more money with you? I raise my complaint, as I have clearly been very accommodating and considerate of the situation. Could've booked a much more expensive hotel. Didn't.
