What we liked: It was decently equipped, although not as promised. Near parks, water and shopping. Recently updated. Comfortable beds, nice sheets and towels. Wifi, free laundry and large closets.
There were small things not done correctly in the update, like saggy/soft spots and lumps in the floor -- a hazard if you have mobility issues at all. It was very, very poorly insulated for noise. There was tight but adequate parking. The kitchen was oddly equipped with a full knife set, two cutting boards, whisks…and no mixing or larger bowls or baking sheets, no wine glasses, but a full complement of other utensils to use in the one pan to cook in. There was no kettle as promised. The oven warming drawer door fell off upon trying to open it. There was no dishwasher and the sink water pressure was very, very, very slow.
In the bathroom, the toilet was not secured, so it wobbled and banged around, and the toilet seat was angled sideways; the toilet roll holder was diagonal, and there were no hooks to hang a toiletry bag or clothing. No hairdryer. There was a severe mildew issue and we had to buy mildew remover as the smell of mold was very strong. The sink is not secured or caulked to the vanity top, and mildew had grown all around the rim, as well as on the walls, in the drain and on the faucet.
There were gaps in the floor trim and missing screens on windows. By gaps, I mean holes 2" or so across. No fans whatsoever, but two irons. There was a real lack of outlets, although maybe these were blocked by the furnishings. Listing promised outdoor space (patio or courtyard) which did not exist and which had been a reason we booked, so it was very disappointing. The dressers were missing knobs and had drawer fronts which literally fell off if you tried to open the drawers. Finally, the valence on one window fell on our heads.
This property is clearly an older apartment building, but the update could have been more thoughtful. I'd have preferred less decor and more function, as well as cleanliness in drawers, floor, wall hangings (very dusty), etc.
