Studio Auenland was a beautiful home away from home, nestled in the most idyllic little corner of Austria. Elisabeth and Reinhard are exceptionally kind hosts, and truly took us under their wing. They are very responsive and easy to get in contact with, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
The location is incredible - right beside a little forest, an old castle, and working stables. The train station, an excellent little cafe, a butcher, and the local bakery are all an easy walk away. Wild squirrels and deer roam freely, especially in the evenings. It's tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac with plenty of parking - people walking by with their dogs or horses is as noisy as it gets.
The room itself had everything we could need, and more. It's airy and spacious and full of natural light, beautifully decorated with warmth and antique wooden furniture. There is a kitchenette, a dining table, and an attached bathroom. Plenty of power points and space for hanging your clothes.
I particularly appreciated the coffee facilities, the fly screen on the window, the gorgeous antique mirror, access to a washing machine, the dishwasher, and the air fryer. Small touches like fresh flowers made our stay feel even more special.
We couldn't have asked for a more perfect first visit to Europe. The forest air is fresh and clean, the people have been so kind and friendly. Studio Auenland is a wonderful little retreat that exceeded expectations from the very first day. We cannot wait to come back!
Watch out for mosquitoes from the nearby pond (although Elisabeth kindly stocks bug spray in the bathroom).
