Scam. Don't book.

Nothing. I can't actually tell you anything about the place, because it was most likely a bait and switch scam.

The host "Jessica" is almost certainly a Russian man. I attempted to get instructions to check in before arrival, but was told I would only be emailed those instructions the day of check in, which was somewhat disconcerting, but OK. I was sent those instructions at 9:02 am the day of check in. Those instructions had me going to a separate shop, putting a code in there, then getting a key somehow from there, then walking back to the flat to get in. Again, not instilling confidence. My Spidey-sense already being up, I was not surprised to get a phone call around noon ( only 3 hours after I was given the check in instructions, keep in mind) from a man with a Russian accent that there was a problem with the apartment and we could not stay there. After pressing, he said there was a broken pipe and laughed. He said not to worry though, he had another flat available for us and asked for my WhatsApp account to send us details. When he sent them, we realized from the photos and address it would have been an inferior basement unit 2.2 miles away from where we had booked near Covent Garden. I called booking.com support to find out if this was legitimate, and they cancelled the booking and nearly immediately refunded me, so good on them. After the cancellation, the Russian man messaged again to ask why we cancelled (we didn't, booking.com did) and them sent is ACH bank account transfer details to send him money to rent the apartment separately. We just blocked the account from further messages and booked separate accommodations. After going back to the listing, I saw reviews of the same listing (that were not there when I booked initially) basically saying everything I discovered...ie: the apartment is a scam, they used AI for the photos, and they are renting the "alternative" apartment illegally as well.

There is no real contact with the host, the phone number provided is constantly switched off. You can only send a message threw Booking.com and wait for an answer. When we arrived to the gate, the key did not work. A resident let us in, who said that the apartment was being rented out illegally, they had already reported it before to the police, and they would report again. The apartment is on the 5th floor, there is no elevator. This is not in the informations. You can pull out the sofa, but it is 140 cm wide, 160 cm long, two adults cannot fit in it. It is also an old sofa. One of us slept on the floor. We asked for a replacement key and a blanket for the person sleeping on the floor, since there were only 2 blankets in the apartment. He wrote back that the key is perfect, let's try several times. The key did not work, and from then one of us climbed over the 3-meter-high iron gate every time, since it is otherwise impossible to get into the yard. We asked again, to replace the key, but the answer was: I assure that the key is working. There is no more key. So every time our friend climbed to open the gate from the inside. He promised also to send an extra blanket. But we received a sheet and a duvet cover left in front of the door. We wrote to him immediately, the answer: The handy man will deliver it today 100%. We waited until 11 pm without any results. The next morning I have got a new message: At the moment, there are only the two duvets with covers and linen available in the apartment for the four of you. An addition thing to know: the shower cabin is 60 cm x 60 cm, the water comes from the top and it is in the center of the cabin, so showering always involves washing your hair.

Excellent location, good & clean place for good value, has many advantages and some disadvantages.

Location : beyond excellent. In the heart of London, very close to car park, public transportation and city centre attractions. Very clean apartment, key collection easy and smart, we appreciate that host is available to help at any time with replying messages and calls.

I understand you can't help with some things coming with old style apartments. High ceiling type apartments 4th floor was ok for me but not for parents over 70. Being in very centre and thin-single layer windows, just be prepared (ear plugs etc) for some noise over night from drunk people at street, especially on Friday-saturday. Friendly suggestion to change the sofa bed to something a little more comfortable or book for just 2 instead of 4.

Not safe. To many flights of stairs with luggage’s or anyone who can’t do to many stairs. No WiFi and wasn’t offered any

It was spacious nice beds

It was 5 flights of stairs no elevator WiFi did not work and was not offered any solutions that worked. Lock to the front door somehow was damaged after one night that made this place no longer safe to stay or keep my belongings
