This is a beautiful apartment close to Zell am See in the village of Maishofen. It is a part of a family home, which includes several apartments. There was absolutelly no expense spared when furnishing the place and it was one of the nicest flats we have ever stayed in. Most of the decor is real wood and stone and feels very Alpine luxurious. The bathroom for instance is stunning. The apartment we had also had a large balcony which was lovely. The kitchen is brand new as well as the rest of the place and is very well equipped with top quality utensils, knives, dishes and a really good coffee machine. We very much appriciated that we had coffee beans ready for us in the machine and it lasted us for the entire trip. The apartment includes two bedrooms with really nice quality douvet and covers. The matrasse was also perfect. It is really a gem and we certainly recommend it as well as our gracious host Christian. Oh and it must also be noted that Christian was available almost immediately when we needed something.
The apartment is close to a small road, which is fine, however it is also close to an entrance to a tunnel. There is almost constant traffic and humming noise which somehow resonates from the tunnel and it may be difficult to sleep for a light sleeper with an open window. I did not mind at all, however one of our party used ear plugs. It should also be noted that there are cows in the area and that means wasps, mosquitoes and flies. There are insect nets in the apartment and a plugin insecticide was also provided to us. However you have to count with this in the summer months. Should someone mind the insects, it would be advisable to avoid this part of Austria altoghether as there are cows everywhere. We love the mountains, so we were happy despite the insects.
