Great communications from the host, he was welcoming, helpful and considerate. Good parking. A very quiet neighbourhood. Good location, not to far from main roads and centre. A spacious property with en-suites and a guest toilet. Didn't use the kitchen appliances, but the kitchen looked well stocked. Tea/coffee/sugar were much appreciated, as well as small tubes of shampoo/shower gel. A large sitting area with comfy settees and armchairs. Smart TV.
We did not find the beds comfortable unlike previous guests. The mattresses are pure springs, no memory foam or anything to soften the impact. One of the springs was bulging. One of the beds had a metal headboard, which creaked. The ground-floor bedroom did not have net curtains/blinds, so on opening the curtains you were in full view of the street and the neighbours opposite. Incredibly dirty windows could really do with a wash - very off-putting. The strangest thing nobody warned you about is that the hosts clearly live/stay in the other half of the house when this property is occupied, so have the full use of the garden, which we could not use. This would not be a big deal, although would have been nice to open the sliding door in the morning, which was locked. But the children (as lovely as they were) were playing in the garden (they were not noisy, by the way) and looking in, so we felt we had to keep the curtains drawn at all times. We did not feel we could relax somehow and felt like we were visiting somebody. We did not think that the property justified the high price paid. Oh, and the shower in the downstairs en-suite was a tiny capsule.

A few finishing touches missing which didn’t impact our stay at all but those details matter if you’re paying £374 for 2 nights.

We did not have any knives in the kitchen but after contacting the owner he quickly arranged for some to be delivered.
We felt that the place had not been cleaned well after last use as we found some broken glass on the foor. We were a little disappointed with the frying pans as they were past use, however we were able to use the airfryer which worked well. Even though there is a kitchen there were few utensils available for use. We had a wooden spoon but no tongs. We could not find dishwashing detergent or tablets. We boiled the kettle and used handwash to clean dishes. We were not sure if bed linen had been washed between stays?
