Recently stayed at the Le Palace. Booked the place through Booking.com. Booked a double bed with AC and came upto 7560INR for 4 days- that is around 1850 INR per day. I'll divide my review into Pros and Cons.
Pros:
1. The location is good, easy to reach and on the outskirts of Chennai. So easy to get to and get out.
2. Parking is available with a security too. The watchman is a sweetheart and a good guy to trust your vehicle with. ( Please make sure you give him something if you go.)
3. Food provided was basic and good enough for a meal. I had stayed here as part of writing an exam and this was a decent stay for that.
4. The room was small but decent to stay. Felt like stayed at a hostel.
5. Motherly like nature of the two ladies sitting at the reception. They were caring and bothered to ask you a thing or two when they see you smile. ( Please talk to them).
Cons:
1. The rooms were dirty. There was dust all over my leg and the tables which needed cleaning.
2. The blanket provided only looked like a 50 year old.
3. The washrooms had lost of sand - probably from the breaking down door.
4. There was a TV provided in the room, which I feel it given to a museum will cost you more money (please check the pictures) and definitely it didn't have android. :-P
5. The food was supposed to be given at 7:30am, but the first day when I went down at 8am, they said I have to wait again for 5 minutes. When I had come down in between my study break to eat, this didn't look good. So from the next day i started coming down at 8:30am when I was provided food.
6. The rooms are pretty old.
BREACH OF PRIVACY: I did not put this first when I should have. I had this bad experince. There was a guy who said he was the manager (also working in a petrol pump). I was in my room and this gentleman barged into the room. He said there was a key missing (as if i stole it). I told him I have paid the full amount for 4 days and showed him my key. He was standing inside the room border. I had told him he had to knock when he wants to enter or even use the calling bell which was attached. Opening the rooms and looking if it was open wasn't the right way. He didn't seem a bit apologetic about it and made me think it's his right to search for his key. I had freaked out when he barged into the room. (Please make sure you lock your rooms from the inside. I had made that mistake of trusting.)
So overall I wanted to give only 1 star after this bad experince. But there were the other nice people I had mentioned about and the safety of my 15 year old car (lol) so i increased it to 3 stars.
But if given a chance i would not go here again as the first option and would look for other options first.
For the current facilities and services i think for the room I stayed, the price for a day shouldn't cross 1200INR.
