DO NOT BOOK. This was the worst experience I've had on Booking, from start to finish. The listing omits the fact that you have to pay 1000 euros as a deposit, on a DEBIT card, an amount totally disproportionate to the cost of the room. There is no information about this on the advert, but because it was non-refundable, there was nothing I could do. The concierge company DID NOT RESPOND to my messages about this a week before arrival, and also DID NOT ANSWER THE PHONE from either me or Booking, who were also unable to sort the problem. There were no reviews listed for the property, so I did not feel confident paying an additional 1000 euros. I had no choice but to book alternative accommodation. A few hours before checking in, I was sent the check-in details anyway through the automated system, as well as a quick note (finally), reassuring me that the deposit was a legitimate request (um, ok, far too late, and still doesn't solve the issue that it's a crazy high amount). Booking have been unable to refund me, despite confirming the error in the information listing (which vaguely refers to 300 euros but doesn't say that this is a deposit). Booking confirmed to me that the owners cannot ask for a deposit amount of 1000 euros, and have put the property on the 'At Risk' list, so that anyone trying to book in future will be warned about this. The reason Booking cannot issue a refund, however, is because the check-in information was provided to me at the last minute, so I didn't need to pay the deposit anyway. According to them (genuinely, this is what customer service have said), I should have not paid the deposit, arrived in a foreign country (after 5pm, so, you know, evening time), waited to see if the check in information arrived, and if not, contact Booking and they would pay to put me up in alternative accommodation. Just so you all know for future. Or just save yourself some money, and don't book this place.
