This cottage was superb! Kitchen area with all the facilities you’ll ever need- and the way it was furnished really made all the difference; with a pullout table, wooden chopping boards and the hanging plate wrack that gave such a homely feel. There was also enough space for me and my partner to cook some delicious meals, with the fridge and freezer space allowing us to store our food for the week and the dishwasher and drying area making for an easy cleanup. As well as this, the lovely anniversary balloon, card and yummy chocolate cake that was prepared before our stay was a really thoughtful surprise!! The Living Room space was lovely too, with a recliner sofa and a separate chair that were perfectly comfortable for watching a movie (especially with the blankets provided) from the built-in television below a selection of classic books to choose from. And even a board game cupboard, just in case reading isn’t your thing! The fireplace that ran on an honesty box system for the logs was an amazing touch. And although we didn’t need it due to the lovely weather, it will definitely come in handy during the winter months when we will hopefully visit again. From the furnishings of the belt hook, to the cleaning supplies that were provided in the cupboard, history of the cottage and dining table with humorous little coasters, everything over exceeded our expectations and more. The outside seating area and foliage was stunning too. Also not far from a pub down the road and countryside walks! On our departure, the checkout book also didn’t go unnoticed and my partner and I made sure to leave a few words. The staircase leading up to the bedroom was equally as beautiful- with more books lining the windowsills. As soon as we walked upstairs, everything looked amazing. The bed was the comfiest and laid out to high standards, with towels and robes that operated on an eco friendly system. Bed stands with two lamps on each and plug sockets along the base of the bed.

The only minor issue we had was with one of the upstairs lights. However, this was resolved very quickly!

The Forge, what a truly wonderful weekend you have bestowed upon us. To feel so homely the moment you enter this beautifully presented cottage is a testament to design and workmanship of Caroline and her husband. If you love cooking you won’t find a better equipped kitchen, truly outstanding. The peaceful summer evening will live long in the memory and I look forward to returning.
