Miraflores Guest House

Property was in a great location and off the busy roads. Room was nice and spacious

We had to ask the owner to clean our room again just as some bugs were crawling about

A acomodação é simples mas tem uma cama com um ótimo coxão e um chuveiro quentinho. Isso me foi suficiente. A localização é ótima. Dá pra fazer Miraflores a pé. O host Aaron é muito prestativo e educado.

The location was great and the host was kind and helpful. Very recommended.

The last day there was almost no hot water but it was not a problem for me and I forgot to report it. Also, a bath mat would've been great.

The single room I had was sufficiently big and the bed was comfortable enough, though it is not the same room as shown on the photo above. There was warm water in the shower. There’s a tiny kitchen available for guest use and a refrigerator in the main entrance where guests can put food or drink. There’s a big supermarket just a few minutes’ walk away. The neighborhood is pleasant and seems safe. The owner/manager, Aaron, spoke English well and was often available in case of need (for a roll of toilet paper or other question). He kindly helped me roll my suitcase a couple of blocks to the pickup point of Quick Llama shuttle to the airport. He also kept my suitcase for free when I went to the Amazon for a week.

I found this guesthouse too expensive for what was offered. My room was so hot and stuffy (in August) and the first fan (covered with filth) did not cool at all. A second fan, also very dirty, blew air better but was very noisy. There was a small window but it only opened onto the little hall right next to the kitchen, which was also dirty and poorly equipped (for example, no cups), but did have gas burners, a pot where you could boil water, and a microwave. The dilapidated cupboard/closet in the room looked like it had been found at the end of a rummage sale. The minuscule bathroom could use a total makeover, with loose faucet, broken tiles, a toilet which was a tight squeeze between the shower and the wall. The rooms have heavy metal doors that make noise if not closed very gently. Aaron was having the outdoor entrance renovated and inside entrance hall repainted, but the actual rooms desperately need improvement, at least the room where I stayed. Also, for people using the very handy QuickLlama shuttle between the airport and Miraflores hotels, be aware that this guesthouse is outside the area they serve. This means you will be charged an extra 5 soles to be dropped at this guesthouse, but at busy times they won’t come there and you will have to walk a few blocks to/from the closest pick-up/drop-off point. With a little effort to clean and fix up this guesthouse, it could be much more pleasant.
